We have focused so much on physical wellbeing, more to do with fitness and diet. However, raising a healthy and happy child goes beyond physical health; it is just but part of holistic wellbeing. The emotional and mental wellbeing of a child has to be strengthened and nurtured. Well, the beauty of having a child who is holistically well is that they grow to be responsible people in society. As such, it is crucial to develop a positive attitude toward wellness in children. It boosts their health beyond just being free from diseases. It helps them have control of their bodies and understand when they need to ask for help.
When growing, children experience different events that can have an impact on their overall wellbeing later in life. Therefore, it is important for their parents and guardians to introduce both emotional and mental wellness practices to ensure they develop well. Ideally, this makes them take control of their mental and emotional wellbeing, making them resilient to different changes as they grow. Children can be taught the attitude of wellness when they are still young. When they learn how to control their mind and emotions, they become physically, emotionally, socially, and mentally healthy. Such holistic health brings happy kids who live long enough to make an impact at different scales.
Every interaction when the children are growing is a lesson. Even when they are asleep, children keep on learning. When the genes of the children are interacting with the environment, they develop experiences that shape their lives. When the concept of wellness is introduced at a young age, the children will grow up knowing that unhealthy lifestyles and pessimism contribute to sickness and sadness. It can be a struggle teaching a child to eat certain foods and discern some of them, especially if it is something they are used to. So, start now start early for the benefits.

Imagine this, if the adults who are currently smoking got a wellness orientation, would they still do it? That is a question for you to think over as you read through this piece. Well, as children grow older if you teach them that smoking cigarettes, doing drugs, and engaging in certain criminal activities is a choice that can bring poor holistic health, they are likely to avoid such. Teach them the art of saying no even when the pressure from peers is too much and explain the reasons behind your reasoning. It is important not to yell, but create a rapport with them-it works magic. Remind them that their choices make them powerful, and a “no” is a powerful man’s weapon against destruction.
When the children understand how strong their bodies are and how the decisions they make today affect their tomorrow, we have already won the wellness war. We all mean well for our children. Watching them grow through different stages of development with high self-esteem makes us feel good within us.
