The brand has excelled in creating functional trailers for decades upon decades, which brings us to the Burley Honey Bee.

The first and most obvious thing about this trailer is that it comes from a trusted brand. This means that you are bound to experience high-quality features but how well do these features perform on the ground?

Let’s see.

• Versatility

To put it simply, the Burley Honey Bee is packed with just about everything you can spot in the Burley Bee trailer, except this trailer allows conversion into a stroller.

Through the included bicycle tow arm and one-wheel stroller kit, it can easily and quickly be switched between stroller and trailer mode.

If you plan on riding frequently and strolling occasionally, then you will thoroughly enjoy ownership of this trailer.

• Stroller Function

Like other Burley products, the Burley Bee features a small plastic swivel wheel that is attached to the trailer arm. The stroller wheel rotates up and out of the way to convert the carrier to a trailer and flips down for strolling.  

The trailer arm sticks out about 1.5 feet away from the trailer and tracks reasonably. However, many users concur that the trailer arm extension makes it not ideal for crowded areas.

The interior of the Honey Bee can comfortably seat two toddlers side by side.

With an internal width of 21.8 inches, there is more than enough room for younger kids, although the same cannot be said for older kids who have more room in other Burley models.

 A great and distinct feature about this trailer’s interior is that it has a recessed helmet pocket that provides extra headroom. This is an excellent feature because it allows the kid to sit in the trailer comfortably even with their helmet on. The pocket prevents the helmet’s weight from tipping their heads over to the front.

• Storage Capacity

This trailer boasts of one of the most spacious storage compartments.

Located at the rear of the trailer is a large, flat-bottomed storage trunk where you can store anything you will need for your adventure.  The compartment is only somewhat problematic if full in stroller mode.

Apart from the hind cargo space, there are also small mesh pockets that attach to the interior of the trailer, where kids can store some of their stuff. The mesh side pockets can be used for holding water bottles, toys, and any other thing the kids feel will spice up the adventure.

The Burley Honey Bee comes fully equipped with 1.75 x 20-inch premium wheels that can easily be removed for quick and easy storage, thanks to the quick-release center buttons.

Furthermore, the push button wheels feature wheel guards for protection from unforeseen obstacles. With its 20-inch solid-quality wheels, you can cover more distance compared to 16-inch wheels on budget bike trailers.

• Brakes

Like most trailers that double as a stroller, the Burley Honey Bee features a hub-engaged parking brake that functions well to bring the stroller to a stop. The brake engages easily and securely brings the stroller to a stop leaving no room for worrying about the kid rolling off.

• Hitch System

You will be pleased with the hitch for the Honey Bee trailer. It comes with the hitch system that comes with every Burley Trailer Design. It hitches into a socket that then attaches to the rear axle of Mum or Dad’s bike. It also comes with a cylindrical joint where a pin goes through to secure the attachment. If you operate a bike with a quick release, which we believe most recent models have, you only need to slide the skewer through the hitch. It sits pretty without interrupting the stability of your wheel. If you are the paranoid parent, you can wrap the nylon strap around the frame of the adult bike and further secure it by attaching the D-ring to the tow arm.

• Comfort Features

There are a plethora of features that are incorporated in this trailer to enhance the comfort of the little passenger and the rider.
